Keys to decorating a vintage room

I will try to be as objective as possible and tell you how to decorate your room in vintage style professionally. The vintage style represents the decoration of the middle of the last century. Furniture, decorative elements, prints, small appliances, manufactured between the 50s and 70s. As for the dating of vintage objects, it is the same. But not any piece inherited from the grandmother is worth, the vintage elements must be author’s designs, or in their defect, exclusive or high-quality pieces, restored or reconverted, to give them a privileged place in our home.

Differences between antique, vintage and retro

To decorate a vintage room you have to know two more concepts. We clarify that a vintage piece will be more than twenty years old, will be associated with a recognized designer, will be of great quality or will add value to space. But you have to know these differences. If a piece of furniture or an object is more than 100 years old, it is classified as an “antique”. If a piece of furniture or a vintage-style object is newer, this is a “retro” piece
